Speak Brothers! EDUnia’s 50 Fathers & Figures campaign is purposed to increase community engagement among Black men in public education systems. Oftentimes parental and community engagement are limited to school-based activities and family fun nights, and the importance of civic engagement in education policy is discounted or unfacilitated. Dallas CORE, All Things EDUnia, and South Dallas Parent Coalition, United MegaCare, Raise Your Hand Texas have created a space for the community to come together to center Black Men as community voices that energize, organize, and strategize civic engagement that respects Black male perspectives in public education.  This event is the first of series of community events in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
